Cantera Opal is found in rhyolite host rock in Mexico.It is hard to remove the fire opal from the rhyolite without damage so cutters cut a cabochon of rhyolite with a fire opal window in the dome. Cantera means ‘‘Quarry’’ in Spanish. Every Cantera Opal has own beauty and some of them has a rainbow colour inside.
