I was born and raised in Japan, where I developed a deep appreciation for traditional culture and handmade crafts inspired by nature. Growing up surrounded by this rich heritage, I've always been passionate about arts and crafts.

Ten years ago, I discovered the art of macramé, one of the oldest crafts in the world. Inspired by this technique, I founded a workshop in Auckland focused on teaching children how to create beautiful macramé pieces. Over time, the workshop has expanded to include adults as well. My approach blends macramé techniques with the natural beauty of crystals, which I believe are gifts from Mother Nature herself.

My creative journey is fueled by a desire to capture the harmony and beauty that exists between human creation and the natural world. Drawing inspiration from nature's forms and the timeless symbols crafted by humanity over centuries, I strive to create pieces that resonate with this symbiotic relationship.

A Little More About Micro Macramé

Macramé is an ancient knotting art with roots in Arabic and Turkish cultures. What began as practical knotting techniques gradually evolved into decorative and symbolic forms, travelling across cultures and continents and becoming a creative practice expressed through jewellery, textiles, and contemporary craft.

Micro macramé is a refined, modern evolution of this tradition. Using fine, durable waxed cords and intricate knotting techniques, it allows for the creation of lightweight jewellery that carries both beauty and meaning. Often inspired by nature and personal intention, each piece reflects a quiet connection between human hands and natural materials.

While micro macramé techniques may require a little patience to become familiar, many people find that once they settle into the rhythm of knotting, the process becomes deeply calming and meditative. This gentle flow state offers a sense of relaxation, grounding, and mindful creative expression.
